Well this year Grandma Stankosky(aka the other mother) had a halloween party Friday Night and we all had a blast. Friday morning was spenttrying to get all the finishing touches for all the costumes and friday we all had way too much sweets and stayed up too late but we had somuch fun! First of all I know it has been a while but with moving and not having Internet, I just have not been in the mood to sit down and post! I am so excited I have lost 8 pounds in a month! I LOVE MY TAISLIM!! seriously people you should check it out! Anyway this first photo I had to share because it seriously looks so muck like my Grandpa Hafen it is scary! Linc is so adorable and has such a fun personality! Gotta love this Pic!!

Then back in April, me and Matt celebrated our 6th anniversary so we went to Salt Lake City with no kids and went to his mission reunion and hung out! Everything would have been perfect if I didn't get horribly sick Friday Night with that stupid cold everyone got! So Horrible! Oh well That is life! But we had fun and it was nice to just get away for the weekend!

Logandale Fair Fun Of course many of you went to the Logandale Fair back in April. We love living in Logandale and attending the fair is a highlight for our kids! they love everything about the fair! So needless to say we had alot of fun and Matt again put on a wonderful performance at the hypnotist show!! :)

Oh so I have been really depressed about how heavy I am and the fact that the weight from Linc is not coming of. So when my friend Katie introduced me to freelife, a natural way to boost energy levels, increase metabolism and all this other great stuff, I decided to give it a try. First of all I want to thank everyone for there concern, comments left and phone calls. I appreciate all the support and prayers. Things are moving along and getting alot easier and as promised this will be a happier post, because we had a birthday party! I will spare you all the boring details, but the girls loved getting dressed alike and especially putting on their crowns making them Princess Aliya and Princess Raegan! I think it all turned out well. Enjoy the pics!

Crazy Times

We are still here, there has been alot going on in our lives and to top it off our Internet is not working so I have to do all our computer stuff elsewhere(reason for lack of posts) but we are all doing well, Raegan turn 3 years old and poor thing was totally sick on her birthday and we had to cancel her birthday party but we will have it on the 21st of this month. i know some of you must be thinking that is a long time to wait considering her birthday was Feb 19th, but we are waiting for her cousin Ali to do a combined party. Thankful all the family is now healthy and there is no sickness left in our house. We are moving down a couple of block and are very sad about the move but we just got caught up in the bad economy and our house isn't worth what we bought it for and is just too much for us to handle. We were going to develop our land to pay off the loan but the market crashed and we bought high and so life goes on. We had a scare with family the last couple of weeks. Grandpa Herdman is really sick and poor baby Maddox had to be but in the NICU. But for now all is well. And at the top of the mountain(at least to us) I have to go in to have a D&C today. Apparently I had a blighted Ovum and miscarried. I found out last week that this was a possibility and I took it pretty hard. We were so excited to add another blessing in our lives especially with all the crap going on but I guess it just isn't the right time. Though the Church helps give us knowledge and light, sometimes we just have to go through are dark times to build our faith. Let me tell you this last few month have been real faith testing months and all I can say is when it rains... it pours!! I am doing alot better now, yesterday I found out for sure that I would miscarry and it was rough, all your dreams and hopes about this new life inside you is just taken away, so needless to say I was a mess yesterday and still get a little emotional today, But I KNOW, I know that everything happens for a reason and right now that baby was not supposed to be here with us! Through all of this I have to say I have the world's greatest husband!! He has been so supportive and loving and a tremendous strength to me. So as you can tell we have had some tough times but we are getting through them and all will be ok( gotta love the temple and the spirit that presides there! which gets me mad that HBO would want to air a reenactment of the sacred ordinances that take place there!!!) I have to go get ready I will be back later with hopefully a more happier post about the girls b-day party and also some pics of the things I have sewn!

Since being a mom I have often neglected myself and never gave myself "ME" time and now being married almost 6 years and 3 kids later I have found I need "ME" time to keep me sane and feel more than a MOM. So what exactly am I doing? Sewing!! That is right while making Christmas gifts I realized I really enjoy sewing(I just don't like being stressed to get something done because I waited last minute to start a sewing project And since I am a beginner it takes much longer than someone who know what they are doing. Here are some of the things I have sewn and a sneek peek at what is to come.

Long Update(Like Promised)

SO Here it is, a very long update of some of our holiday highlights. Oh course not all were captured on camera but you will get the main idea of all that went on the last month and a half.

GRANDKIDS & THE MALL SANTA

Each year my mom likes to get pictures with Santa. when we where young we would get dressed up and went somewhere where Santa was for pictures and now since the youngest in our family is now 13 my mom had moved on to grandkids. This is the third year of pictures of grandkids with Santa and probably the most difficult due to the time we went(kids just waking up) so needless to say we did no get a good picture but it's memories!

HAFEN FAMILY PICTURES

My mom wanted to get so family pictures taken since it is rare that everyone is together at one time and it worked out this particular weekend that everyone would be in town so we headed to Aliante Park and Stephen Salazar took a gazillion pictures, of course these are not by him the are from my own camera after we took family pictures.

LINCOLN'S E.R. TRIP

Poor Lincoln, He is too adventurous for his own good. We came down to Vegas for our ward temple night and guess what we didn't get to go because we had to take this little monster to the ER for stitches because he like to climb on the kid chair at the kid table and this time the chair tipped and he cut the inside of his lip open. Luckily Darrin was working at Valley so we didn't have to wait all night. poor little guy.

Boulder City's Christmas Parade

This Year besides her own craft show, art in the park, and a few other home craft shows, my mom decided to do the doodle bug craft bazaar and after it was over there was a Christmas parade that I swear was an hour and a half long, but the kids enjoyed it.

This year I decided to try making a gingerbread house and in our(mine and my kids) haste to make the house we didn't read the instructions, thus we didn't wait long enough to decoration, therefore our gingerbread house began falling apart before we were done decorating. So we made, decorated, and ate a gingerbread house all in one night.

I guess when your son is starting to look like your daughter, it is time to cut the hair. Let me tell you I still have mixed feelings, I loved his hair long, but he looks cute with it short. I guess it is a good thing Hair grow back.

WARD'S CHRISTMAS PARTY

This year our ward had a really good Christmas party and since we are on the activity committee our sisters came down to help with our kids. Ethan also was the shepard in our Christmas Program, and of course a party would not be complete without a visit from Santa.

HAFEN FAMILY FUN NIGHT

This year the Hafen family all got together, ate yummy soups, caroled to some neighbors, looked at the awesome lights down on Judson, and had a family talent show. which ended with the grandkids Nativity. So Cute!

The Next Day Me Matt & the kids went out to town square to get our "offical" Santa Picture. Matt was so good getting our kids to smile that he got offered a job to make all the kids smile for the camera(funny) We had a really fun day of shopping and being with our family.

Christmas Sunday Crafts

Just a couple of things I tried this year, Reindeer candy canes for the kids classes and Raegans Hair bows. Not to bad for a first timer.

THE BONE'S CHRISTMAS PARTY

GRANDMA SUGAR'S FAMILY CHRISTMAS PARTY(AKA The Herdmans)

Monday before Christmas my mom had all over her side of the family over for a Christmas Party. We had fun eating delicious Mexican Food and of course Santa came. And this Santa was so nice and brought presents for all the kids. Of course we played the always fun white elephant gift exchange.

GRANDMA HONEY'S CHRISTMAS PARTY

Grandma Honey Christmas Party's are always fun and she is always coming up with fun games to play. If you take a close look at the pictures we are all wearing name tags with our "Christmas" Name on it and for the entire night you have to use your Christmas name and if you get caught calling someone by their given name you get a mark. The one with the lest marks at the end of the party wins. Then we played a snowman game, grandma honey made stretching snowman costumes and the object of the game was to get the most blown up balloons in your snowman. And the last and most entertaining game(besides the white elephant game) was the reindeer game. We were divided into teams and give balloons. We had to blow up the balloons stuff 5 balloons in each leg of a pair of nylons then one person from our team had to put it on their head and sing Jingle Bells. First one to finish singing wins. It was really fun and when you look at the picture you will see that it started off as the game and then ended in laughs as Matt and Austin get creative with the nylons.

CHRISTMAS EVE @ GRANDMA HAFEN"S HOUSE

Every Year my dad's family gets toghter at Grandma Hafen House to have Christmas Eve Dinner and wathc grandma & grandpa Hafen open their gift. This year Grandma Hafen wanted me to have the Great Grandkids do the nativity like they did at my moms house to bring the Christmas Spirit. I gotta tell you as a kid I always hated dressing up for the nativity year after year but as a mom, seeing my kids up there portraying the birth of our Savior I can understand why our moms made us do that every year. It was amazing and spiritual yet still was so cute.

CHRISTMAS MORNING

Christmas Mornings our always fun and even better when kids are at that stage where they are so excited about everything. Thankfully our kids were exhausted from all the parties and slept in until 9(amazing becuase they are usually up by 7 if not earlier) So that was a nice gift to us. After all the presents were unwrapped we ate breakfast I finished up some binding on the quilt I made and we headed up to St George for Christmas Dinner with Bone's. It was nice and we had a wonderful Christmas. I could not have ask for any thing more.

Gotta love kids who love everything and can be excited even when it is clothes(of course they got more than just clothes)

This year our family went TO INFINITY AND BEYOND!! That's right we went as Andy's toys in Toy Story! Matt-Stinky Pete(Prospector) Jackie-Jessie Ethan-Buzz Lightyear Reagan-Little Bo Peep Lincoln-Woody. We had a blast and we tried to decorate our trunk in our theme(It looked a lot cuter in my head) The kids(or should I say toys) got tons of candy(for me & dad) and had fun running around the church parking lot! As I have been informed my sister in law turns 17 on the 30th. So HAPPY BIRTHDAY SADEE!! Sadee is so good with the kids, she is like a mini Martha Stewart but 100 times better! And on top of that, she is incredible smart! Happy Birthday Sadee(see that is what happens when you come from a big family and then marry into an even bigger family you can't keep track of all the birthdays!)

Well October in our family has a few birthdays so here it goes!
Yesterday was my little sister, Tori's 13th birthday! Tori is so beautiful and is an amazing singer I am talking way better that all those disney teen pop stars, so Disney would be smart to sign that kid up becuase she is FABULOUS! And deserves the best life can offer! Love ya girl
Yesterday was also my niece, Sienna's 1st birthday, so we got to spend time with Matt's family last night. Happy birthday Sienna!
Then on the 22nd, Cody, my youngest brother, will turn 15! Can you believe that! Wow does time fly. He is very excited to be able to start driving in 6 months. He is an amazing football player and one of the fastest runners at Rancho, probably in the world(Ya I know a little over board, but he is good!) Oh ya and to all you young girls out there, 1 more year and this stud is on the market!!
Then last but certainly not least, my dear sweet kind, crafty mom celebrates her 21st birthday on the 25th of October. My mom is an amazing woman. She is so supportive of everything any of her kids does and always want to be there for us, whether it is sporting events, speaking in church, or if we just need someone to talk to. I love my mom so much and am grateful for all the sacrifice she has made for me. Know that I am a mother I realize how much she really has done for me and our family. Happy birthday mom. I love you!

Shumay Reunion

This Labor Day weekend we headed up to Moab to spend time with Matt's grandma and go to the Shumay reunion. Up in Moab we had fun fishing, spending time with family, enjoying cooler weather, and I got to finish the Twiligh Series!! All in all we had a blast and the kids keep asking when we can go visit Grandma Frog! Grandma Frog WE LOVE YOU and hope you start feeling better soon!

Saturday we celebrated Ethan's 4th birthday. This years theme....POWER RANGERS! Yes Ethan is very into power rangers right now. This year we had his party in Logandale at the Bowler Park. We borrowed a water slide brought our kiddie pool and the kids had a blast!! Ethan loved his party and was very happy most of his friends and family was able to make it. Thanks for all who helped make Ethan's birthday a blast!

OK So I know most you already know that mine and Matt's family went on vacation to the beach. Let me tell you it is exactly what I needed.(Minus a few details) anyway the beach is always great except this year was a little warmer than usual but not nearly as warm as Vegas. WE spent alot of time at the beach in the pool hanging out and one day we spent at Sea World(definitely hot there). My kids had a blast hanging out with cousins and making new friends with the Coker's grand kids! Also I got to read!!! I know sounds so exciting but I don't get to do much besides kid stuff so to be able to read adult books was quite refreshing so can anyone guess what I chose.... that's right the Twilight Series! I actually finished the third book a couple of days ago and am looking forward to reading the last. Back to the vacation i got a lot of cute pictures that I will post later because I am back in the real world and have so much to get ready reunions, ward parties, and this weekend my first born will be FOUR!! I can not believe that next year he will be in school(tear) so many emotions so much to do so very little time to do it!! Oh well such is life! check back for pictures of our vacation and Ethan's 4th B-day!!

Well couple of weekends ago turned out to be a very great weekend. Mandy & Taylor ended up coming down on a spur of the moment type trip and Aliya was with Jake that weekend so everyone was here! We had so much fun but of course I forgot my camera at home so I have no pictures of the fun here with everyone. It was so cute, now that the cousins are getting older they are really starting to play together. It is so adorable. Raegan and Ali kept holding hands and walking back to play in the playroom. And of course there was lots of swimming and BBQ it was so much fun to have all the family here(but one minor detail, I had only pack for Friday b/c we were planning on going home after Sal's birthday but decided on staying so my poor kids had nothing to wear but oh well)
Then on Monday(gotta love 4 day work weeks) WE went out to the Reservoir in Logandale to get out of the house, swim, fish and just have some family fun. Let me tell you it was a blast! I think we found our Monday ritual fro the summer. I actually got to read a book I have been wanted to read for years. So if all works out I may get a lot of reading done this summer! anyway here are some pics from our Family Fun Day!

Then on the 4th of July we decided to come down to Vegas and spend the holiday with family. That weekend turned out to be a great weekend also. First we spent some time at my Family's home, the kids swam, the boys BBQ, and I took pictures. Then we headed over to the Stankosky Party and again the kids swam and we ate and I took pictures, then back over to my parents house for some firework fun. Lincoln somewhat enjoyed the colors but wasn't all that interest, Raegan was in a daze and Ethan hated them(Which was weird because he loved them last year)and Jake had Ali again this weekend and she loved the fireworks. anyway so after the home fireworks were done we loaded up to try to catch the base firework show, but no luck they were over so we parked and watched the valley's fireworks. All in all it turned out to be a good 4th of July. Then on Saturday we had a fun crazy day. We heard the Disney store was having a crazy awesome sale so we went, no stroller, one 9 month, two 2yr olds, and one 3 yr old at the mall, in the Disney store. That is enough to wear someone out. But the kids were not that bad besides the constant trips to the bathroom. So while the girls(minus Tonya she had to work) were at the mall, the boys went to the Harley Davidson dealership to look at bike(their newest obsession) then we relaxed some, some swam, some took naps, then the boys went to Jake's to watch the fight and the girls(plus DAD) went to Red Robin to eat then off to Tonya's house to play the Wii. After staying way to long at Tonyas(b/c of course Matt had to play after the fight was over) we headed home to Logandale at about 11pm. But we had a lot of fun!!

BIG GIRL

That is right I now have 2 potty trained children. We started last Wednesday, I totally was not going to start until all the diapers were gone but she found her pull-ups that I bought a while back when they were on sale and she told me she didn't want to wear her diaper anymore she wanted to wear underwear so I started right then. Again I have to say I prefer the naked approach. I did it a little different with Raegan I put underwear on in the morning and once she had an accident that was it no more underwear she went naked the rest of the day. I was really impressed because we went out of town on like her 3rd day of training and she only had one accident while we were down in Vegas. She even survived the mall trip with no accidents. I cannot believe my babies are growing up!

Memorial Day Weekend 2008

This Memorial Weekend like all Memorial weekends, we went camping up at Tropic Reservoir with a bunch of family and friends. This year however, was a little different. With the weather forecast not looking to great me and Matt decided it would probably be better for us to borrow a trailer instead of tenting it. WE could have borrowed a couple different trailers but I was a little hesitant on borrowing a "nice" trailer to go camping with three children when it was supposed to be raining. Luckily Rick(friend of ours) let us borrow his hunting trailer which was great. It was a 1978 trailer that is used for hunting and camping, Perfect! It really was, I was not so paranoid about ruining someones 40K toy hauler. So shelter was good and it was so nice to have a heater because it was freezing!! Seriously I think we spent the majority of the time around the campfire. It snowed every day but luckily it hardly stuck but it was still cold. The kids had lots of fun playing with everyone. So in all we had a really great weekend but it was nice to finally get home in our own beds.

Well today while watching some morning cartoons a AAA commercial came on and when it was over Ethan came over to me and said "my dad hit a lady"(last year some idiot driver blew a stop sign and Matt swerved to miss but still hit the back end of her car and the kids were with him so it was pretty traumatic for Ethan) "He should get Triple A so he can get back on the road"! Seriously he said that I was laughing hysterically. It was so precious I had to call Matt and tell him. I swear I love this age when kids say the funniest things ever!

Girls Weekend

Well this weekend was our wards Father & Sons camp-out which mean... GIRLS WEEKEND! This weekend me and Raegan did all kinds of girly things. We painted our toes, watched chick flicks, did our hair & make up, ate ice-cream(well a frosty with french fries) and of course went shopping for clothes! We had so much fun! I always love being able to spend some one-on-one time with each of my kids! anyway here are some pictures of our weekend!

Well as some may know my brother Jake has been trying to get custody of his daughter Aliya. He went to court yesterday and both sides ended up agreeing to Joint custody, except Aliya will be with her mom more days than she is with Jake, but Jake has a say in major events in Aliya's life which is great and Aliya will be named Aliya Elizabeth Smith-Hafen(long I know but at least the Hafen is in there). Well I am not blogging to tell you what they agreed on, I am blogging because I was supposed to be a character witness for my brother yesterday, since they settled, it did not actually go to trial so I have some things that I want to say that I did not get to say yesterday! So here it goes(Also I am not trying to offend anyone but some things need to get said ya know) My brother Jake is an amazing father. Aliya and Jake have one of the cutest, closest father-daughter bonds that I have seen. Jake would do anything and everything thing in his power to give his daughter the best life has to offer. Jake is not a sit back and let others take care of my daughter type of guy, from the beginning, when ever Aliya was permitted to be with Jake, he has always been right there, changing the diapers, dealing with tantrums, kissing boo boos, reading bedtime stories, everything. He did not want to miss any moment of his daughters life. Now if any of you know the whole messed up complicated story of Jake and Nellie you will know that Jake has to prove himself a million times more worthy to be with his daughter and I feel that he is being royal screwed. Now do not take this the wrong way I love the Smith family despite all that has gone on I have grown up with them my whole life and I am truly happy for Nellie and I hope her and Tim have a happy and wonderful life together and by no means is this a jab at her and her family, I just do not understand why two families cannot work out their differences for the common good. I Believe Aliya deserves both her parents in her life. Not only that but deserves to know both families. We love Aliya and miss her too when Jake does not have her. I just cannot understand why this whole situation had to even be brought to court. My brother, though he chooses to do some things that I don't agree with, is not a bad parent at all. In fact in some areas he is a better parent than me. He makes time for his daughter. He takes her to the park, takes her to the farm, he is always thinking about his daughter and things they can do together, how he can make his home funner for her. He is an amazing person and just because right now he is not a worthy priesthood holder and is questioning the LDS religion does not make him a bad father or person! Again I know that he has made some mistakes in the past and makes mistakes now (but seriously who doesn't) but I now that my brother loves his daughter and me and my family have hope and faith the he will come back to this gospel. I think many would have strayed with only a fraction of the hypocritial things that Jake has had to endure, that people have done and said to him about not only himself but his entire family. Again we are all human, have made mistakes and have all strayed from the gospel to some degree or another. For some it takes a little bit longer to make it back but by no means should this be a criteria for him having custody over his daughter. I love my brother and believe with all my heart that he deserves his daughter in his life as much as she deserves to have him in hers. Both Nellie and Jake are capable parents and there is no real reason why she cannot have both equally in her life. It is my hope and prayer that the Hafen & Smith family can once again all be friends and be able to have holiday parties & ALiya's birthday together and be able to forgive and forget and be happy for everyone so that Aliya can have a loving supportive family from both her biological mother & father, Jake & Nellie!! Because no matter what anyone thinks of my brother, he knows how to make one cute baby!! I love you Jake!!

Ok so I know it has been a while since I have really blogged but my computer is so tempramental and is not letting me upload my photos and a story without photos just isn't really a story(at least in my opinion) So I uploaded some pics at my moms house and here goes the catch up of our lives.
Last weekend we went up to Mesquite with some of my family to hang out and start Spring Break off. We pretty much hung out, ate and shot off all the guns our family owns. It was really fun just to get away from our house and our daily routine and shake things up. Plus Watching the boys act like they are cowboys from the old west was the BEST!!Check it out. Oh yeah the close up of Ethan was right after he shot a gun for the first time! That is my all time fav pic

Now we have been trying to get Lincoln to eat baby food. First I tried rice cereal, hated it, so then I tried oatmeal, hated that, so I said screw the cereal I'm gonna start with the veggies. I always give my kids green veggies first then orange then fruits. Well I started with green beans knowing that he was going to hate that as well(because all my kids hated green beans) Nope I was wrong, Loved green beans hates peas!! This boy is going to be my picky eater. GREAT! but here are picture of him enjoying green beans :P

Next on our update is Matt's Birthday. Matt turned the Big 27 on the 16th of March and I wanted to but all these cute pictures from Matts past on but again my computer is stupid so you will just have to settle for pictures from his birthday dinner(which of course was Dutch Oven chicken & potatoes, Yummmm)

This is a picture taken at Matt Birthday dinner of Lincoln & his cousin Sienna who is two weeks younger than Lincoln. They are just so cute!

Then, on St Patricks day me & my mom went to Utah to get some stuff to make some crafts. It was a quick trip drive up get what we needed and drive back. While we were there mom got Raegan these really cute PJ's that make her feel like a princess. The picture of Lincoln was just one I took during one of our driving breaks.

Then Friday it was off to Vegas to spend time with Grandma Sugar(Hafen) She got the kids lunch, took them to the mall to see the Easter bunny and then it was off to Build-A-Bear where Raegan made a bunny and Ethan made a Monkey. The monkey however was not Ethans 1st pick. His first pick was a bright pink bunny, and I didn't think his dad would appreciate his 1st choice so I showed him some other like the monkey, hinting that he was like curious george. It was so cute watching them make their animals and of course our build-a-bear animal would not be complete without sounds so Ethan picked out the Monkey sound and Raegan got Grandma's voices saying "Raegan. Grandma loves you" She absolutely loves it! She is always pushing the button to hear Grandma say she loves her. It is really cute. And as you look at our picture from our trip to the mall you will notice there are no pictures of the kids with the Easter bunny, 1) because you have to buy a picture before they will let you take a picture with your camera & 2) Raegan was scared to death of the Easter bunny, she would not let go of Grandma. So there you have, who needs a picture of the Easter bunny anyway, we would rather take a picture with the White rabbit from Alice than the Easter bunny anyways!!

After the Mall, it was off to Grandmas house to go Easter egg hunting. There was so many eggs because it was only my kids, because Derek & Dylan are in Cali & Aliya unfortunately is in Provo, so my kids had no cousins to play with, but I don't think they cared once they figured out that now they got all the eggs(with all the candy) for themselves. Beside the fact that we were missing important members of the "Hafen" family we had alot of fun, especially Mikey!!

A couple of days ago me and the kids were playing outside after their naps. I showed them the "wishing flowers" and told them that they had to close their eyes, make a wish, and then blow all the stuff off the flowers. Well they did and it wasn't anything spectacular, they just copied me. But then after a while had past Ethan picked up another flower and said(out loud) with his eyes shut, "I wish for a train!" and then blew the flower. It was the cutest thing I ever saw, so I ran in and grabbed my camera. After that I think they picked all the "wishing flowers" from my yard and made different wishes. Yes that is right Power Rangers!
Well It official, Ethan marks the 2nd generation of Power Ranger fans in my family. My little brothers loved Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. When I said loved I mean fanatic, they even had the costumes and everything. Well now on ABC kids, Saturday morning Ethan loves to watch Power Ranger: Operation Overdrive. It is so fun to watch him because when they start fighting, he tries to do all these ninja moves and he start jumping of the furniture. It is hilarious. Also whenever he is wrestling with his dad or play fighting he talks into his wrist(like he is looking at a watch) and says: "operation overdrive!" and then starts spin kicking and running around. It is so cute! You gotta love having a boy!!

However there are so many digital scrapbooking software out there I was just wondering if any of you out there digital scapbook and if so what do you use and do you like it. Just curious. I don't want to go and buy and then not like what I buy so I am just researching right now. Please let me now what your opinions are. Thanks!
P.S. I found out that Hip hop Abs is really fun and a good work out, so if you like to move it probably would be a good investment : )

Yes it is that time of year again, I cannot believe my little girl is 2! This year again we had a double birthday party with Aliya on Saturday. Their theme this year was Minnie Mouse. I have to say it turned out really well. We just had family over my moms house and bbq, ate cake and ice cream, and opened presents you know the normal stuff, oh cousre we did miss the oblads but maybe next year they will be there. The Cutest thing, I think, was the Minnie Mouse ears I made both Raegan & Aliya. They looked so adorable. Pictures are coming soon. And then since today is actually Raegan's b-day we invited some of our friends and Grandpa & Grandma Bone(who live in Ivins, UT) to our house for cake and ice cream to celebrate. So I have to say Raegan was pretty spoiled this year. Time goes by so fast!!!

Well it has been a while since I have blogged about something mainly because my computer is being stupid and is not letting me upload my pics onto my blog. It has been very frustrating, so as soon as I figure out that situation I will have so many pic to put on, but right now you will just have to hear about things happening in the SDtankosky home. Well first off like almost everyone else my kids got sick. Raegan and Lincoln got it the worst. Raegan and Ethan got it first and despite my efforts, Lincoln got it as well. The are so congested and coughing all night long, which makes for a long night for mom. Now Raegan and Ethan are doing alot better besides being totally cranky but little Lincoln is still really stuffed up and it is hard for him to breathe. It is so sad to see him, his eyes are all red and the look on his face when he coughs is so sad. Well moving on, my kids are getting so big, this weekend Raegan's crib got transformed into a "Big Girls' bed and once Lincoln get over this cold he will be moving into a crib in Ethan's room. It is so crazy how time works, When you are little you feel like time is moving so slowly and you can't wait until the next big thing hapens in your life and then it feels like after high school time just flies by. The same thing happens when you are pregnant, if feels like you are pregnant forever and at times it feel like you are never going to get that baby out of you, but then the are here and before you know it they are in moving to Big Girl beds or moving from your room to their own or going into Sunbeams. It is so crazy how fast time on this earth really goes by. Well that is enought about all that, and that is pretty much all I have to say today so until next time, enjoy the time you have!!

New Years Resolutions

Like most people, one of my resolutions is to get into shape and lose all this baby fat that I have acquired. However, if you are like me I really don't have the resources to go out to a gym so I need to workout at home. So here are some of the workouts I enjoy that really work you out.

I love turbo jam. It is fun and upbeat and has a killer ab workout. Also if you have trouble doing crunches turbo jam does a lot of core workouts standing up so you get a great ab workout without lying on the ground.

I absolutely love The Firm. They have a bunch of different versions. I have the first called The firm and I am borrowing my sisters called the TransFirmer. They are both awesome and the cool thing with these workouts is you will never hit a plateau because they incorporate weights in the workout so if your body gets used to it you just up your weights and have a great workout. This to is up beat and fun. I love to move, especially when I work out, so if you are like me try these work outs because you will love them.
Another work out I would love to try is Hip hop abs. It looks fun. If anyone has tried let me know if you like it.

Well since we missed our yearly trip to Disneyland in December and going on vacation anytime soon is more than likely out of the question, me and my family are very Disney hungry. So since we can't go to Disneyland anytime soon will just have to get our Disney fix by going to Disney On Ice. We went last year to the Disneyland Adventure and my kids loved it. Raegan was still a little too young last time to fully enjoy it but I know this time she is going to have a blast, especially since it is a Princess one. We going tomoorow night and what makes it even more fun is Grandma is coming with us!! My kids(and me) are going to have so much fun!

Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year

I know I am so late on these but like everyone else I've been busy and lazy. This Christmas was not at all like I planned, we ended up being stuck at home Christmas Eve because the day before Ethan woke up with pink eye. I felt so bad because we isolated him in his room because we did not want the other kids to get it or Matt because he is still on probation at his new job. So I felt bad, I think I would have rather have had the flu or ear infection because at least he could have been out with us. But no worries we put a TV and VCR and his V-Smile in his room and it was all good. He even liked being able to eat his food in his room. Well Christmas came and went, the kids loved everything they got and Matts dad in St George wanted us to come up and didn't care that Ethan had pink eye so we took a trip up for Christmas dinner(which was soo good) grateful to get out. Then we came down to Vegas on Friday and gave family down here their gifts, but the big gift was the movie that Jake made for my mom and dad of their lives since last year was their 25th wedding anniversary. It was really good Jake did an awesome job. Then new years we just rang it in at home. pretty boring but with everything going around we just wanted to be home. Ok I was tagged a while ago but I have been busy and then we rebuilt our computer, It has just been crazy. So here I go Susan.

1. What is his name? Matthew Gordon Stankosky(Bone-change it before we got married)
2. How long have you been married? 5 years this April
3. How long did you date? Well it depends on what you consider dating. We have known each other forever, he even dated my older sister in middle school, but we didn't get together until after he got off his mission in May of 2002. He was on the rebound, I was on the rebound so seriously we just were friends that hung out all the time then we became "friends with benefits" in Aug '02 and then we made it offical in Oct. and were engaged in Dec'02 then married in April '03! Sounds fun huh!!
4. Who eats more? Definitely Matt eats more.
5. Who said I love you first? I DID!! Wierd story that I am not sure I want to share but I said it first.
6. Who sings better? I would say Matt, He is definiely more confident when it comes to perform so that gives him more of an advantage over me. But he has a great voice!!
7. Who is taller? Matt is taller. He wishes he was taller than what he is but he is the perfect height for me becasue I am short so no matter what shoe I am wearing he will always be taller, Which is a big thing for him.
8. Whose temper is worse? I think we both have a temper but I can control mine more than he can.
9. Who does the laundry? Me, It seems like I am never done, and can I say I hate hanging clothes up!!!
10. Who does the dishes? I do the majority of the time, but if I have a lot on my plate He will help( no Pun intended)
11. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? If you are looking at our bed, Matt sleeps on the right closest to the door to protect me from any harm :)
12. Who does the cooking? Both of us. If I get to dinner before he gets home then I do the cooking, but if I didn’t then we both pitch in and get it done.
13. Who is more stubborn? Again I would say we equaly each other
14. Who proposed? Matt did, He took me and some friends up to Salt Lake after Christmas, we went to see the lights at the temple, we split from the group and went by the fountains and he made me make a wish and then took me around to the front of the fountain and written in pennies was Jackie will you marry me. It was so cute and romantic. he is definitely a keeper! :)
15. Who is more likely to admit when they are wrong? Me. I have to apoligize first before he will, or if he apoligizes first it is because he wants something in return. Boys!
16. Whose parents do you see the most? Mine, which cause some conflict but when Matt is at work I just feel more comfortable at "my" house. Sorry Hon.
17. Who pays the bills? I do. If Matt was to handle our bills we would have so many boys toys and no bills paid. I am the more sane one when it comes to spending and saving money
18. Who wears the pants in the family? He usually makes the final decision but after we talk about it unless it is something I feel really strong about.
19. Why do you love your husband? Wow I could be here forever. Matt is an amazing guy, he is funny, HOT, a great father, but most of all he has a huge heart. He is always wanted to help and serve others. He is an amazing husband and a great example to our children. I love everything about he. He completes me, He brings out the best in me, we just fit.

So Last Wednesday we had our Stankosky Family Christmas Party. It was really early this year because everyones schedules are so crazy and some are going out of town for Christmas and Skylar works all the time just like his father Chuck so find time to get everyone is so hard, so this year we did it early instead of right before Christmas. This year was alot of fun. We had yummy Costco pizza and chips with Chuck's amazing homemade salsa. we played the white elephant game and we ended up with all toys(yeah for the kids) and just hung out. Oh yeah we also gave Chuck and Brenda their Christmas gift from the married kids, which was a book we made on Heritage Makers of all the grandkids. It turned out so cute. Well to start off, Matt is starting a new job Monday with the City of North Las Vegas as a Traffic Electrical Worker. So we are excited about that. Lincoln is getting so be, he is 2 months and almost weighs 13lbs!! As some of you might know, the NFR is in town which means sales on western apperal so we took our kids town to the big tent sale and got them some boots. It was supposed to be a Christmas present but they were to excited about there new boot to wait, especially since these boots light up when you walk! AWESOME!! anyway here are some pic of my cowboy and cowgirl

So this Halloween was pretty crazy with the new baby and all. We decided to do a Peter Pan theme this year and like the past I was going to try to make some costumes. Well I, with the help of my mother-in-law, made tinkerbell(with store bought wings)Friday Oct 26th and decided to just buy peter pan since it was 50% off(Cheaper than buying all the material and would save me time) I made Captain Hooks vest and ruffles Sunday and Monday with Mr. Smees hat. Well I had left my material in Vegas Friday and my mom-in-law thought she would have time to make it for me and save me some time, but she didn't, and I founf out halloween afternoon because Tuesday Matt was supposed to pick it up or the material so I could figure something out but forgot and I had left my phone in the car which he took so I had no way of getting in touch with him so needless to saw I did not dress up this year, I tried really hard to finish my costume but the kids were going crazy and since I just had a baby I had to get creative with the pattern and I was trying to figure everything out and watch kids, feed the baby and then this happened.

You see, my son has a little John Deer ride on truck and he was ride it and somehow he crashed and the stering wheel came of and the spot the hold that wheel on hit my son in the ribs and I thought great, I am stressin to get my costume down and everyone dressed and now we are going to have to go to the hospital because Ethan just broke is ribs!!

But luckily Ethan is a tough kid and his ribs where not broke just brusied and sore and we didn't have to go to the hospital but it was to late to try to finish my costume so this year I was me(& Right now that is scary enough with all this baby fat!!) But my family sure looked GREAT in Their costumes!!

Ok so I know all of you know that I finally had my precious baby boy on Sept. 30th at 8:21am. He weighed 8lbs 6oz and was 18.5in long. So here are some pictures of that fun filled day and some more recent pics. Enjoy!

False Alarm

Ok well as some oh you know I thought I was going into labor last night. My contractions started about 5pm and were 10 mins apart. 7pm rolls around and I am still having contractions so we decide to come into town and go to the hospital. So we load everything up and drive to Vegas. The drive down still have regular contractions. Drop the kids off still having contractions. Drive to the hospital contractions are starting to slow down. Get to the hospital no more contractions. I had 3 contractions total while I was at the hospital so needless to say they sent me home. I was so upset and felt completely stupid and besides that I got my hopes up thinking this was it but nooooooooooo this little boy wants to be difficult, typical man! I mean had we lived in Vegas, I would have waited to go the hospital until my contractions were closer together but living in Logandale, I am scared of having this baby on the freeway! So today I am still upset and to make matters worse my doctor calls and needs to push my appointment back unitl Friday. With the insurance we have I float around to other doctors and finally I get to see my real doctor who can schedule me to be induced since I am dilated to a 3 and 70% phased, but now I have to wait until Friday at 1:30. And now I will have to wait even longer at the doctors office because she is double booked because she had to cancel all her appointments. I am really, really frustrated and emotional and I am ready to have a baby!!

Can you believe it! My little boy is 3 years old. He is getting so big and so smart. Well for his birthday we went to grandma Stankosky's house and swam, ate pizza, swam so more, ate cake and ice cream, swam even more, then opened presents. Ethan had so much fun with his cousins. I will post some pics later of the party and hopefully soon some pics of Ethan's baby brother :)

I'm a Big Kid NOW

So on July 12th 2007 we decided that it was time for Ethan to be "a Big Kid" and started the whole potty training. Let me tell you that first day I thought I was going to die. Not a good idea to try to potty train while in your last trimester in the HOT summer. Well anyway we first tried the pull ups because I didn't want to clean up accidents of the couch, chairs, etc. however as the day progress it was apparent that Ethan knew that the pull ups were like swimming diapers and he knew he could do his business in the pull ups, so he would not go in the potty chair but would wait until he had his pull ups on. By the afternoon I was so frustrated I put him back in diapers(Becuase pull ups are not cheap) and said we will start again tomorrow. Well tomorrow came and the pull ups went on and still no success so I said fine, that is it you are going naked. So off came the pull ups and he ran around naked and he actually went by himself in the potty chair. From then on we have had much success. We still have an occasional accident but for the most part Ethan is a BIG KID NOW!!!

Fun On the 4th

Today we spent most of the day at Grandma Stankosky's house. We dressed up in Austin's many costumes, hung out, BBQ, and swam. Then we played with sparklers with the cousins. Later that night went went to Grandma Hafen's house and played with some more sparklers and then went down by Nellis Air Force Base to watch the fireworks!! We had alot of fun!!

Well, yesterday I went to the doctor and of course, like most pregnant women, I was horrified by my weight and how much I have already gained. However, I am right on track with MY usual 40 pounds pregnancy weight gain. Anyway, my husband was talking to me and he too is worried about his very "little" belly and wants to start eating more healthy and exercising. So I need your help. Please inform me about any really good healthy recipes that even kids like or even some websites that have healthy but delicious recipes. Please HELP!!! {Mandy I know you have to have some because you look to amazing not to have some secret recipes :)}

Memorial Weekend Camp Trip

So every year we go camping with a big group. This is a tradition with my husband's family. This year we went to Bryce Canyon. It was a lot of fun. Raegan and Ethan loved it. Raegan especially loved all the dirt. She was so dirty all the time but that is camping! However this year my family decided to come with us and they had a trip I don't think they will ever forget. To start off they leave Friday and on the way up the mountain something happens to my dad's truck and they think the transmission went out. So the next day they call Jake and tell him to come up and help tow the truck to St George(closest Chevy place) So up Jake comes and then leaves that night with my dad only to return the next day with his daughter Aliya, Jonathan and Tonya(in her Maxima). Jake then decides he is going to leave Sunday evening so he can have a relaxing day at home with his daughter before he leaves back to Cali for school. However it wouldn't be a Hafen vacation if everything went according to plan. So Monday morning when the rest of my family was getting ready to leave with Tonya in her car, she couldn't find her keys. They looked everywhere. They even dug ing the trash. Well the decided to call Jake once again and guess what, Tonya's keys were in the cup holder in the truck Jake drove up. So again Jake drives up to give Tonya her keys so everyone could make it home. What a fun camping trip. I don't think they will ever want to camp with us again! Sorry guys. Other than that we all had fun fishing, shooting, 4 wheeling, and just staying a lot cooler in the mountains :)

IT'S A BOY

Yep thats right we are going to have a boy hopefully in Sept. My due date changed unfortunately and now I feel really huge but apparently I am not due until the 4th of October give or take 2 weeks, so I am hoping I am really due in Sept. Anyway if you have any cute boy name suggestions, we are all ears. Anyway that it's for now I will keep you posted :)
